Pledging

Chi Psi Fraternity is a fraternity of gentlemen. As such, all our members and pledges are treated in a gentlemanly fashion. During the pledging process, we adhere to a strict no-hazing policy. To quote from our national guidelines, "Consumption of alcohol, controlled substances, and specifically excessive or forced consumption of alcohol is not a part of any Chi Psi pledging or initiation ritual or activity."
Furthermore, each aspect of the six-week program is designed with one of the following goals in mind:

• Learning about Chi Psi, the organization
• Learning about the past of Chi Psi
• Getting to know the present of Chi Psi, the Brothers
• Getting to know the future of Chi Psi, yourself and your pledge brothers

We believe that there is no intelligent way to join a group without first knowing about the group itself and those members who make up the group. Hazing and frivolous, dangerous, or demeaning tasks detract from the overall experience and hinder the growth of meaningful bonds among brothers and those seeking admission into the brotherhood.
