Sigma Delta Recognized at 170th Annual Convention, Wins Founders' Trophy

In Ann Arbor, Michigan, site of the 170th Annual Convention of Chi Psi Fraternity, Sigma Delta received the Founders' Trophy.

Created in 1974 in honor of then-National President Oliver R. Rowe, S'25, the Founders' Trophy is given annually to honor the Alpha which has made the most significant improvement during the school term.


Sigma Delta President Matt Straus, '12, was also elected to serve as the undergraduate representative on the Chi Psi Executive Council.

Finally, Sigma Delta was recognized for several additional achievements. Commendations included:

  • being named to the Financial Honor Roll for outstanding financial accountability in the past year;
  • being named to the Literary Honor Roll for outstanding Alumni Communication in the form of the Lodge Letter;
  • being named to the Community Service Honor Roll for outstanding Community Service and Philanthropy in the past year;
  • and being named as a finalist for the Goodbody Trophy, an annual award given to the Alpha that shows a commitment to scholarship through programming and academic excellence and through taking advantage of the educational programming offered by the Educational Trust.
